Abstract: This article is a brief analytical review of international trade developments with the historical retrospective from the ancient times till the beginning of the 21st century. The analysis is made by considering progress trends of such parameters, as the volume of world trade and its structure (by sector and by region). The authors come to a conclusion that up to date international trade development is exhibited not only quantitative growth of mentioned indicators but the new quality of growth connected with the impact of such factors as internationalization and scientific and technical revolution.
