Abstract: This article describes the leading Finnish industrial «clusters». The authors analyze their main economic characteristics, their initial and current sources of competitiveness and certain developmental trends. The artiele focuses on the role of the cluster approach in Finnish State industrial policy. The authors the n compare the range of mature and potential industrial clusters of the Finnish economy with similar complexes of Northwest Russia. Based on this analysis, a conclusion is drawn in favor of potential cooperation.
