Abstract: The paper analyzes premises of rent-seeking behaviour of economic actors on the banking service market in Ukraine. The authors determine essential economic consequences of rent-seeking behaviour in the national banking system and put forward some practical recommendations for improvement of governmental regulation of banking system as an important factor of strengthening of economic competitiveness and national security in Ukraine.
