Abstract: Исследуется вопрос о становлении и развитии институтов гражданского права, регулирующих порядок и условия присвоения физическим лицам имени, под которым в соответствии с действующим законодательством следует понимать не только собственно имя, но и фамилию и отчество (за исключением предусмотренных законом случаев). Сделан авторский вывод, что доменное имя следует квалифицировать как одно из средств индивидуализации граждан.The question of formation and development of the institutes of civil law regulating an order and conditions of assignment to natural persons of a name as which according to the current legislation it is necessary to understand not only actually a name, but also a surname and a middle name is investigated (except for the cases provided by the law). The author's conclusion is drawn that the domain name should be qualified as one of means of an individualization of citizens.
