Abstract: The article deals with the issues of small industrial business development within the framework of transitional economy. The author studies the role of small business, opportunities for the establishment of various types of small industrial businesses, as well as the development of innovative small business in the current circumstances. The author also shows the close relationship between generic features of transitional economy and the specifics of the latest stage of development. The article also examines the issues of the small organizations' energetic struggle for survival which implies increasing their efficiency.
