Abstract: The article examines the auxiliary (administrative) business processes of large companies. The author analyses the negative impact of auxiliary business processes on companies' general competitive edge, examines the reasons for that and the potential for boosting the competitive power by optimizing this group of business processes. The article describes one of the possible methods of optimization, namely, the distributed service centres concept, and also proves the feasibility of its introduction before the implementation of the outsourcing strategy.
