Abstract:

The article discusses the concept of impetus for economic growth and gives the author’s interpretation of it in the light of peculiarities of the current period of economic and geopolitical development. The forest resource potential is considered as a new impetus for economic growth in the medium-wooded region - Republic of Mordovia. The article describes the distinguishing features and the current state of forest resources in the region, analyzes its timber industry, and highlights major trends and priorities in the development of the forest sector of the Republic of Mordovia. The research work lays out reasons for using forest resource potential as a fresh impetus for regional economic growth in current geopolitical conditions. The paper outlines a new strategic focus: creation of a regional bio-economic system.

В статье рассматривается экономическая категория «точка роста», представлено авторское определение данного понятия с учетом особенностей современного периода экономического и геополитического развития. В качестве региональной точки роста рассмотрен лесоресурсный потенциал и проанализирована его роль на примере Республики Мордовия в стратегии развития среднелесного региона.Выявлены особенности современного состояния лесного фонда данного региона, проанализирован его лесопромышленный комплекс, выделены основные тенденции и приоритетные направления развития лесного комплекса Республики Мордовия. Результатом исследования является обоснование лесоресурсного потенциала как точки экономического роста в регионе с учетом современных геополитических условий. Обозначен новый стратегический акцент - формирование региональной биоэкономической системы.
