Abstract: The periods of the Ukrainian transitional economic system based on key macroeconomic indicators are classified. The macroeconomic tendencies of the functioning and development of the Ukrainian economy under the conditions of transformation since 1990 till 2015 have been investigated. The specific problems of functioning of modern Ukrainian transformational economic system are determined.
