Abstract:
The main purpose of any sanitary system is to improve the levels of health and welfare of the population of a country or region. The objective of this paper is to evaluate the efficiency of the Galician Sanitary System for the period 2001-2006. The methodology applied was the Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) because of its flexibility for adapting to sectors that produce multiple and intangible outputs, especially in the public sector.
