Abstract:
This paper looks at some of the factors which may influence agri-environmental measures participation among wine farmers in Galicia, which is low in general. Specifically, we have study the implementation of Integrated Pest Control measure along 1997-2006 period. In order to analyse it, 15 surveys among wine producers were completed, as well as 13 surveys among experts and technicians in integrated pest control. We develop a survey instrument to measure farmers’ socio-demographic characteristics, farm characteristics and farmer’s attitudes and behaviour towards the measure. The study reveals that these factors have to do with farm characteristics but also with policy design and the characteristics of the required practices.
