José López Rodríguez and Antonio García Lorenzo

Revista Galega de Economía, 2010, vol. 19, issue ex

Abstract: The aim of this work is to offer a reflection and analysis of the main problems that raises at organizational level the open innovation. Drawing from two conceptual key elements of the organizational design, coordination and incentives, we use them to frame the main challenges that stem from the implementation of an open innovation model. Coordination problems arise as a result of the cooperation with other agents. Within this field we raise two problems, problems of networking and problems of divergent objectives. Incentives problems arise as a result of the difficulties in the creation a value capture of innovations. Within this field we raise four problems, problems of left ideas inside the firm, problems o information revelation, problems of team production and problems of technology exploitation.
