Abstract:
Galician agricultural products and foodstuffs face a more competitive environment. This is the reason why some of these products have wanted stand out its special characteristics, related with quality and origin, by adopting geographical designations of quality. In this article we check different juridical figures that exist at present and what they consist in. Later we present the geographical designations of Galician products and we analyze their evolution, economic importance, representation on a national context and level of penetration in foreign markets.
