INCLUSIÓN FINANCIERA: DIAGNÓSTICO DE LA SITUACIÓN EN AMÉRICA LATINA Y EL CARIBE

Abstract: En los últimos años se han multiplicado los esfuerzos a nivel mundial por favorecer el acceso a los servicios financieros especialmente en determinados países y para determinados colectivos, incrementándose el interés por la construcción de sistemas financieros incluyentes. En este trabajo se analiza la inclusión financiera, estudiando sus diferentes dimensiones, los beneficios que conlleva, su carácter prioritario en los últimos tiempos para multitud de organismos y los obstáculos a su desarrollo. Concretamente, se ha centrado la atención en su evolución en la región de América Latina y el Caribe, comprobándose que, en general, se trata de una región con un acceso al sistema financiero en desarrollo y en el que persisten aún desigualdades en el ámbito social. No obstante, se atisba un potencial significativo de mejora fruto especialmente de la evolución tecnológica y del esfuerzo de los organismos implicados.

In the last years the global efforts to increase the access to financial services have been multiplied especially in certain countries and for certain collectives, growing the interest in the construction of financial inclusive systems. The inclusion financial is analyzed, studying their different dimensions, its benefits, its priority character in the last times for many institutions and the obstacles to its development. In particular, attention has focused on its evolution in the region of Latin America and the Caribbean, proving that, in general it's a region with access to the financial system in development and which persist even inequalities in the social sphere. However, is emerging a significant potential for improvement especially product of the technological evolution and the effort of the institutions involved.
