Abstract:
The study of technological change is fundamental to an understanding of the evolution of the agriculture of Valencia during the second half of the nineteenth century. This technological change is defined as a combination of innovations and practical knowledge which allowed improvement of both manuring and irrigation, which, in turn, boosted agricultural production and led to economic modernization of the region of Valencia.
