Abstract:
Along this century, profuse series of laws tending to regulate the operation of the agrarian lease system in Argentina have appeared. That system not only constituted the access route to the land for numerous European inmigrants, but also for their descendants. Given the difficulties to harmonize the interest of the tenants and that of the owners, the state mediated in those relationships and toward the 1960s impelled the dissolution of the traditional rental system in agreement with the socio-productive movements. This article outline and explain how that legal evolution occurred, and how it was accompanied by the opinions of politicians and intellectuals connected with such idea.
