Abstract:
This article stresses that the distribution of mineral and chemical fertilizer up until to 1936 was driven by changes in supply and the cutting of their relative prices. Circumstances surrounding demand particularly explain the different rates at regional and continental levels. Special emphasis is therefore placed on the different types of demand generated by the existing stock turnovers and the availabilities of water and organic manure.
