Abstract: Heterogeneity is one of the most remarkable characteristics of European agriculture. This is shown in ongoing important structural differences and , moreover in the great variability of payment capacity within European architecture. One of the main objectives of this paper is to clarify in which sense structures condition the level and growth of productivity. Therefore, eleven groups of different structural patterns with similar structural characteristics will be specified. Then, the narrow link between structures and productive efficiency will be confirmed to focus the research on whether agrarian productivity of European regions converged between 1987 and 1997.
