Abstract: This paper reviews the latest contributions to Spanish contemporary agrarian history from a demographic perspective focusing on five themes: history of the family, family economies, standards of living, internal migratory movements, and marriage rate. It is emphasised how the advances in demography and agrarian history are the result of the macro analysis and aspects of regional history, along with microanalytical proposals and local perspectives. The paper concludes by highlighting the need to progress in this line of research by cross-referring different variables and from interdisciplinary approaches.
