Eine spieltheoretische Analyse des Schweizerischen Parlaments

Markus König

Swiss Journal of Economics and Statistics (SJES), 1996, vol. 132, issue I, 63-85

Abstract: This article examines the influence of the political parties and provinces (Kantone) in the Swiss parliament, based on the Shapley-Shubik index. The article shows that the power index is a useful tool for analysis of elections. Moreover, the article reveals that the paradox of redistribution and the paradox of quarreling members occurred often during the période of 1963-1991. This paper also examines the voting power of the 23 provinces in the Swiss parliament and provides an insight on the institutional setting of the legislative body.
