Indikatoren für Nachhaltigkeit

Renate Schubert

Swiss Journal of Economics and Statistics (SJES), 1998, vol. 134, issue III, 391-414

Abstract: Indicators for sustainability are necessary in order to gain insights into the development of a country's or a region's sustainability in the past and in order to forecast the future development. Based on such indicators, measures in order to strengthen or preserve sustainability can be conceived. Sustainability can be modelled such that a theoretical indicator for sustainability can be constructed in analogy to the cost-of-living index. Such an indicator for sustainability corresponds to the intuitive concept of sustainability in a macro sense. In order to evaluate the sustainability of individual behavior, another indicator has to be constructed. According to the corresponding topic, different indicators for sustainability have to be considered.
