Abstract: The paper presents selected problems of economic effectiveness evaluation of telework implementation for IT teams in the public sector institutions. Telework is a form of employment which can be successfully used in most of IT activities and professions. In need for rationalizing constantly growing labor costs it is necessary to implement telework programs in IT teams, also in public institutions. The author presented a methodological background for a study on economic efficiency of such programs based on the Cost-Benefits Analysis (CBA). Estimates of expected benefits are based on Key Goal Indicators (KGI) and Key Performance Indicators (KPI) recommended in the PO7 Manage IT Human Resources process of the COBIT® 4.1 model (Control Objectives for Information and related Technology). The suggested approach is then verified on a real example for IT telework program implemented in a large public institution, and selected detailed effectiveness assessments are included in this article.
