Abstract:
The article presents the concept of internet crowdfunding – its economic and legal implications. Crowdfunding market (as a segment of electronic market) is estimated and analyzed. We present: crowdfunding definitions; typology of models and reward strategies; market characteristics and analyses of donations, loan-based and investment models, including ASSOB.com.au as the example of equity-based investment model. Special attention has been laid to the set of circumstances – benefits and limitations (economic and legal risks) related to its development, especially for investors (donators) and entrepreneurs.
