Abstract:
The aim of the study is to assess the size and structure of expenditure on health in the poorest and richest households and an indication of the determinants of health expenditure in households. Research material consisted of data from the Household Budget 2012. Canonical correlation analysis was used. The most important determinant of spending on medical and pharmaceutical articles in the household was an age of household members. In the poorest households larger share of expenditures was for medico-pharmaceutical articles. In wealthy households more spent on medical services.
