Abstract: The aim of this article is to examine the factors influencing the interest in using mobile payments by Polish consumers. The diversity of mobile payments markets in the world was presented, considering different trends in developing countries and highly developed ones. As a starting point of the study, the classic Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) was adopted. The authors adapted TAM to the conditions of the payment market. Statistical verification was carried out using structural equation modeling, on the basis of the survey on a representative sample of Polish society. The results bring an important indication for the requirements that should be met by the mobile payment system to achieve broad interest of consumers, and suggest the choice of the target group.
