Abstract:
The subsequent economic crises strongly influence the way in which all companies function. Although each crisis differed from the previous ones, companies usually implemented "verified" solutions. Most of them perceived the changes as threats and therefore undertook typically defensive restructuring actions. This means, above all, reducing tangible and intangible assets. The goal of these companies was to maintain the maximum profit by adjusting cost to the declining income. Nowadays many companies undertake different restructuring activities, which involve entering new markets, introducing new products as well as increasing or re-shaping the employment structure.
