Abstract:
The following article is based on a research, made by the author concerning the main factors that affect facility manager's decision on outsourcing FM activities to professional companies in Bulgaria.The survey was conducted in summer of 2014 and consist of 107 answers from facility managers, administrative directors and owners of businesses, who owned or rented premises in order to do their core business. The conclusion of the article is that there are four main factors 1. Motive - better FM services from a subcontractor; more financial resources; less bureaucracy. 2. Organization - access to benchmarking; good relationship with subcontractors; better management of building related data. 3. Added Value - better space management; increased value of the premises. 4. Infrastructure - better maintenance of building assets.
