Abstract: The paper considers the clusters and their important role in the knowledge-based economy; the Bulgarian clusters in the European context; the problems of the Bulgarian clusters from the point of view of the knowledge management. Conclusions are drawn on necessary improvement steps in Bulgaria in order to establish effective clusters.
