Abstract: The Russian legal practitioners use different approaches when officially defining the unlawful business practices. There also are discrepancies concerning the definition of what the right punishment for the economic crimes should be. The author of the work offers his own definition of what business activity is. He opts for the using the rule of contraries here as the Russian Criminal Code includes a definition of unlawful business practices.
