Abstract: The article actualized necessity for providing competitiveness of Russian chemical industry as a factor of sustainable development of enterprises in modern conditions. The article investigates the structure of the potential for sustainable development of enterprises, argues the need for a har-monious development of the three components of sustainable development potential: social, eco-nomic and ecological.
