Abstract: The concept of crisis, which may be defined as the sudden and unexpected rise of a condition has been very common in the financial field lately. While inter-related economical structures because the crises extend within the country, the financial liberalization causes international financial crisis. In Turkey confronted economical crisis for various reasons in 1994. November 2000 and February 2001. These crises affected the banks as well as the brokerage houses in a very negative way. There are many studies and investigations on the responses of the banking sector towards these crises and the degree of how much they have been affected from such crises. However there is no sufficient study about the intermediation sector (sector). From this point of view the responses of brokerage houses to the crisis, the degree of how much they have been affected from these crisis have been studied based basically on financial structures, and the effects of the crisis on the functional structure of intermediary institutes and the sector has been investigated.
