Abstract:
This study attempts to assess the mathematical approach as a methodical instrument in economics. Mathematical methods have been preferred to verbal approach for the reason of clearance and definiteness of math. Therefore theoretical arguments turn out to be more supportive in respect to systematic coherence. In spite of this fact, there have been various assertions about the role of math in economics. Two of them are noteworthy; some argue that mathematical methods provide concrete basis for theorizing. Others claim that over-usage of math with the absence of profound theoretical background might give unfruitful outcomes for the sake of reality and the reliability of economic theory. In this study, these points of view are considered in the way of evaluating their reasoning that lead different comments.
