Abstract:
Corruption is a worldwide phenomenon that hinders economic development of countries, efficient allocation of resources and fair distribution of national income. Contribution of international organizations to struggle against corruption is crucially important so as to complement the efforts in both state level and civil society level. International organizations are integral part of anticorruption efforts since they provide countries with opportunity to discuss the issue in detail; to elicit information about successful experiences of other countries; to reinforce their own anticorruption strategy and to take preventive measures in international environment. This study is an attempt to analyze the role of international organizations in curbing corruption and to underscore significance of international cooperation in solving the matter concerned.
