Abstract:
Activities of the administration in economic sectors take different shapes depending on the economic policies pursued. The administration can itself run activities towards increasing public welfare in accordance with the social welfare state principle. Yet the same activities can be delivered by private sector. In the latter case the administration assumes primarily the policing function. Owing to the liberal economy approach competition and regulation concepts have received attention in recent years. Furthermore, principles of law & economics and economic policing have been the prevailing concepts. This study aims at analysing briefly the interactive relationship amongst such concepts as privatization, regulation, policing and the administration’s management of economy within a matrix context, and highlights judicial review and international arbitration in this puzzle.
