Abstract:
In this paper, via a multi-criteria hybrid approach based on stochastic DEMATEL and simple weighting methods, the career preference problem has been modelled and the outcomes of the model are associated with individuals' attitudes towards risk. Firstly, for five different domains, subjects’ attitudes towards risk are measured. For the criteria derived from these fields, the structural relationships between criteria are constructed and composite importance degrees of the factors involving these relations are determined. Then, the outputs of this model are used to analyze the preferences on three basic career options. The results are evaluated in terms of links between revealed preferences, risk attitudes, gender differences and being student or graduated.
