Sosyoekonomi Journal, 2014, issue 21(21)

Abstract: The aim of the study is to determine the level of work - family conflict of practitioners of accountancy. The study is carried out on 136 practitioners of accountancy that are operating in Diyarbakir. As the scale of work - family conflicts; Netemeyer, Boles and Mc Murrian (1996) work - family conflicts and family- work conflict scales are used consisting of 10 questions (5 of them are about work - family conflicts and 5 of them are about family - work conflicts). As a result of the study, it was examined that the practitioners of accountancy operating in Diyarbakir have generally conflicts between work - family and family- work in accordance with the answers given to the scale of work - family conflict. However, the average of the answers given to the scale of work - family conflict is as “I am not sure”. Therefore, it can be said that there may be a secret conflict owing to the fact that the problems occurred from work may affect family.
