Abstract:
Abstract This paper aims to assess the effects of absorptive capacity and analytics competence on sustainable economic performance. Data is gathered from 237 micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to examine the relationship between the research constructs using the structural equation modelling approach. The study supports the hypothesis that absorptive capacity directly affects sustainable economic performance and indirectly influences sustainable economic performance through risk resilience. On the other hand, analytics competence positively influences risk resilience but does not affect sustainable economic performance. The study adds to the body of knowledge by demonstrating the mediating role of risk resilience in absorptive capacity and sustainable economic performance relationships. Findings also indicate that risk resilience can be enhanced by developing absorptive capacity and analytics competencies in firms. The study discusses valuable implications for practitioners and scholars working in the field of risk resilience and analytics competence.
