Abstract: Abstract Blockchain technology can increase traceability and openness in sustainable supply chain management (SSCM). There is still little research on sustainability hazards connected to using blockchain technology to SSCM, especially in the construction sector. This work sought to close this gap by utilizing a new analytical technique and identifying and classifying social, economic, and environmental sustainability threats. Combining interval type-2 fuzzy sets (IT2FS) with a decision-making trial and evaluation laboratory (DEMATEL) approach helped the study to handle partial data flexibly without enough prior knowledge and to lessen the burden of decision-makers in paired risk criteria comparisons. The findings reveal that the most important hazards connected to the application of blockchain technology in SSCM are economic ones like loss of profit and confidence. Another important consideration is the environmental danger related to energy use that is too high. Less important than economic and environmental hazards are social ones. The results imply that while using blockchain technology in SSCM in the building sector, legislators and practitioners should consider economic and environmental sustainability issues.
