Abstract: Abstract This study aims to explore the key attributes of implementing circular supply chains (CSCs) and their interrelationships dynamics. To this end, the study identified 16 attributes of CSC implementation based on a literature review and input from experts via semi-structured interviews. Following this, further experts’ opinions on the identified attributes were collected, and fed into fuzzy total interpretive structural modeling (TISM) to understand the causal and dependence relationships among them. The fuzzy TISM and Cross-Impact Matrix Multiplication Applied to Classification (MICMAC) analyses provided a defuzzified TISM diagraph of the hierarchical structure of these attributes, which were subsequently combined into a model that has been empirically validated using survey data from the ready-made garment (RMG) industry in Bangladesh via partial least squares structural equation modeling. The results reveal that internalization of the circular economy among stakeholders, favorable CSC policies, symbiotic relationships with other industries, and supply chain collaboration push organizations to upskill their human resources with regard to CSC, integrate R&D innovation and circular design, and develop smart and robust logistics systems. These attributes, in turn, can lead to optimized forward and reverse flows of material, measurement of sustainability throughout the product life cycle, responsible material and energy sourcing, SC resilience, and activism of media and brand for sustainability marketing. This study advances the current knowledge and informs practice and policy on CSCs implementation by identifying its attributes and unfolding their causal inter-relationships.
