Abstract:
In this paper, the behavior of the simple logistic map, May (1976), in the real space (R) is analyzed. Interest in the global behavior of the map, and in particular when the environmental parameter and the state variable obtain negative values, is warranted because actual, relative and negative stock sizes have particular meaning in socio-spatial dynamics. It is shown that a continuous as well as a non-symmetric correspondence of behavior exists, from the positive to the negative domain in R.
