Abstract:
Abstract We rank the economic resilience capacity of the 17 Spanish regions by observing the evolution of the components of the rate of profit. To this aim, we analyze the differential evolution of the two components of the profit rate: (i) the productivity of capital and (ii) the gross operating surplus share on national income. The first component rests on the dynamics of aggregate demand and technical efficiency, while the second one informs on the dynamics of income distribution. We consider that the dynamics of these two variables are relevant to rank the economic resilience capacity of the Spanish regions.
