Abstract: Zusammenfassung Der Text ist eine Annäherung an das Thema Big Data aus Sicht der Regionalstatistik. Ausgehend von den aktuellen Aufgaben der amtlichen Regionalstatistik sowie begrifflichen und methodischen Überlegungen zu Big Data werden Chancen, Risiken, künftige Aufgaben und Arbeitsgebiete der amtlichen Regionalstatistik angesprochen.
