Abstract: Abstract The paper outlines ISTAT’s current experience with the promotion of statistical literacy with several stakeholders and with different projects. It starts by showing the activities and where they are placed in ISTAT’s organization chart. Then, the relaunching of the activity with a new plan involving both the Dissemination Directorate and the regional offices is explained, with the ideas behind it as well as with the different targets of the projects (students, teachers, the general public) and explains why partnerships are the solution for the new project and for the idea of statistical literacy as a cross-cutting ability. Examples of current partnerships are subsequently described: the OpenCoesione School project, and the project of Financial education. In the end, the conclusive paragraph shows what the lessons learned are.
