Neues Lehrkonzept Wirtschaftsstatistik im Rahmen der Einführung von Bachelor- und Masterstudiengängen

AStA Wirtschafts- und Sozialstatistisches Archiv, 2008, vol. 2, issue 1, 93-104

Abstract: Descriptive and inductive statistics as the science to work with empirical data belong to the most interesting, wide-ranging, but also to the most difficult tools to solve nearly all important political, economical and social tasks in a modern society. Therefore statistics are an essential part of education in numerous courses of studies, especially in economic sciences and a strong engagement in teaching statistics is necessary. Stastistics in economics (and population statistics) as an empirical-oriented part of statistics have to make an important contribution in this context. The new teaching concept for “Statistics in Economics” and “Population Statistics” within the process of establishing the Bachelor- and Masterprograms of study at the School of Business and Economics at Humboldt University Berlin is a part of such efforts to guarantee a balanced and empirical oriented teaching program which also motivates the student‘s active cooperation in statistics in economics.
