Job analysis and time study in logistic activities: a case study in packing and loading processes

Abstract:
Abstract Aim of this study is examining the logistic activities of enterprises with the job analysis method; to be organized and designed in such a way that it can be done most effectively, efficiently and ergonomicaly in terms of time and method studies. In this context, in the first phase of this study which was designed as four stages, the company to be investigated in terms of process optimization was determined. In second step, logistics activities of the selected large scale cereal production companies which operate in Gaziantep were collected within the scope of the study. Data were analyzed by job analysis method and a new method was proposed for the process that the related activities formed in the third phase of study. In the fourth step, new process is proposed and proven to increase the efficiency, effectiveness and ergonomy of the business is presented. As a result, it has been calculated that the proposed process saves 75% of the labor cost of enterprise in logistic activities. In addition, with the proposed new process, the total time of packaging and loading processes was reduced by 47%. The method and conclusions that are observed in this study are thought to be of the benefit of all businesses and people with similar activities.
