Abstract:
Abstract Although sustainability assessment is widely discussed at Brazil, in Brazilian Amazon its use is still little applied, considering this territory is about 59% of Brazilian space. The state of Amapá faces the same shortage of work in the sustainability assessment. This research aims to assess and analyze, through the use of indicators, the sustainability of the municipalities of the state of Amapá. The materials used for research development were based on national and international bibliographic references, as well as statistical data from official sources, processed with the minimum and maximum method, used to standardardization of variables, considering the positive and negative relationship that each one has with sustainability. In a scale 0–100 points, the low score of 47.68 points shows that in many areas the actions of local, regional and national governments have to be reviewed. In this regard, these results suggest that local and state policies should reflect sustainability with practical actions that promote it, otherwise these results will be negatively accentuated in a not too distant future.
