Abstract:
Abstract Bioeconomy includes several different sectors and fields of research that bring together pieces of expertise that have historically been far apart from each other. Moreover, given that it is a new field, there is a lack of data and clear-cut information to define and delimitate its field of investigation. Finally, people address the bioeconomy with very different views and expectations in mind (and sometimes using totally different interpretations of the concept). In spite of this, there is clearly significant demand for economics to help understand and evaluate the potential of new technologies, to analyse new markets and for meeting societal needs linked to the bioeconomy. This book is a response to this demand and also an effort to fill a void in the literature by providing a reference that addresses the economics of the bioeconomy as a whole, while at the same time linking up its various components. This book review dissects the volume with the chapterwise cross section to present a reflection of the complete volume to the readers.
