Abstract: Abstract This paper studies the influence of water systems and roads on the distribution of the western Sichuan Linpan in Deyuan Town of Chengdu City in China. The amount and ratio of Linpan in a specific buffer zone were calculated and analyzed by buffer analysis, and the specific distance that each density distribution zone of Linpan away from water systems and roads was determined. Based on these above data, the effects of the distribution of water systems and roads on the distribution of Linpan were studied quantitatively. It is found that most of the Linpans are distributed in the area of 0–60 m from the water system and 0–40 m from the road. Linpan tends to be located close to the water systems and roads. And through analysis, it is found that the optimal distribution distance of Linpan is 10–20 m and 30–40 m from the water system and less than 5 m from the road. Through quantitative analysis of the impact of water systems and roads on the distribution of Linpan settlements, it provides important theoretical support for the further guiding the site selection of the Linpan center, the construction of surrounding villages, and township land planning and improvement.
