Abstract: Abstract Based on quantile regression model, we explore the mechanism of the impact of urban development land price distortion on industrial structure evolution. Furthermore, we investigate the nonlinear effects of urban development land price distortion on industrial structure evolution under different thresholds of regional variables by using a panel threshold model. The results show that (1) Urban development land price distortion significantly inhibited the evolution of China’s industrial structure during the period under examination. (2) The inhibitory effect of urban development land price distortion on the industrial structure at different quantiles was heterogeneous during the period under examination. (3) Urban development land price distortion has a nonlinear effect on the industrial structure evolution at different thresholds of regional variables. In response to these findings, we propose policy recommendations to correct urban development land price distortion to promote industrial structure evolution, thus providing a reference for governmental decision-making.
