Abstract: Abstract This article offers a descriptive summary of the fifty years of the Journal of Industrial and Business Economics, with information and data on the protagonists, governance, issues and changes that have taken place in half a century. Reference is first made to the Italian context, in which the Journal was born and grew, and then to the international context in which it stands today. The non-conformist origin of the Journal and its focus on the major challenges of our changing world are emphasized, which we hope will be maintained in the future.
