Abstract: The static current density (J)-electric field (E) characteristics of BaCo x Ti x Fe (12−2x) O 19 ferrite compositions (x=0.1, 0.3, 0.5, 0.7, 0.9) have been investigated at an applied field from 0.003 kV/m to 4.98 kV/m at room temperature. Compositions x=0.3, 0.5 and 0.7 exhibit ohmic behavior at low applied field and non-linear conduction is observed in compositions x=0.1, 0.3, 0.7 and 0.9 at higher applied field. The various non-linear conduction models, associated with Schottky, Poole-Frenkel, Ionic Hopping and Space Charge Limited Current mechanisms, have been discussed. The large current density has been found at higher substitution. Copyright EDP Sciences, SIF, Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2015
